The current paper aims to take into consideration the stylistic valences of the word deplin in the lyrical work of a Romanian contemporary writer, Traian Dorz, the author of thousands of mystical poems and of several volumes of memoirs and religious meditations. We will have in view the fact that, although considered an adjective / an
adverb without degrees of comparison, the word allows, nonetheless, in certain situations, the association with the morphemes of intensity (the attachment of grammatical marks of the Comparative and of the Relative Superlative), creating obvious expressive effects in some contexts selected from the poet’s creations, which are representative for his artistic belief. Apart from the actual use of such known meanings, with a fundamental role in spinning the lyrical message, contextualizing the word deplin potentiates the profound emotions of the lyrical voice, always situated on the ascending way towards spirituality and, at the same time, in a dialogue with God or with the ones nearby, illustrating the specific manner of transposing in artistic images aspects regarding the perception of various experiences related to the soul’s ascent, the conception about life and Divinity, the lack of limitation of His exceptional attributes and the world Beyond, the unique and complex relation between man and the Creator – an idea on which the entire creation of Trian Dorz is centered.
