In this material, I aim to discuss a partially unpublished translation of Dimitrie Cantemir’s work, Curanus. The translation belongs to Professor Nicodim Locusteanu, who remained in the history of cantemirology as the first translator from Latin into Romanian of the philosophical work Sacro-sanctae scientiae indepingibilis imago, as Metafizica. The manuscript is preserved in the archives of the National Library and partially preserves the Romanian translation of Cantemir’s work. After about eighty years, this translation is brought to the attention of the public and placed in the history of the research carried out on this little known and studied work.
Dimitrie Cantemir; Nicodim Locusteanu; manuscript; unpublished translation.
