Abstract

This paper will focus its attention on those lexical and stylistic aspects that substantially change the profile of the spoken Romanian language in the postmodern era. Firstly, we will analyze the dynamics of the use of repetitive lexical units or structures, which ultimately lead to stereotypy and redundancy in the oral discourse updated in everyday conversations. Incidental words, Romanian or foreign, which have entered the spoken Romanian language through different ways, will be the subject of another chapter. We will discuss, from the perspective of the unaesthetic in language, lexical surplus formulas, adverbs, semiadverbs or zombie words, which we frequently use in oral expression,
to outline an idea. All these words that function in an incidental regime are verbal tics, from the use of which we finally escape with difficulty. Additionally, within the logic of the same generic semantics, we will deal with the forms of kitsch manifestation in spoken Romanian. All these occurrences certify the degree of flexibility of the spoken Romanian language, and simultaneously, of its continue semantic degradation, showing what the word is heading towards, in the splendor and misery of its earthly orality.
