Abstract
Our study aims to analyze the structure of Euripide’s
tragedy, one of the most admired playwrights of the 5th century BCE,
along with Sophocles and Aeschylus, whose tragedies have remained a
landmark and a source of inspiration for modern playwrights. Like other
lyrical species, the evolution of the tragic genre is closely related to the
era in which an era of great social, political and intellectual upheavals
was born and developed, the era in which the philosophy of the skeptics
and the sophists finds their counterparts in the structure of tragedy. Their
theme and representation mirror the art of Greek drama.
